STUDY PROCESS FOR CANADA 10 STEPS

1. Select the relevant course related with your previous studies or employment. The levels of programs available are Diploma, Bachelors, Advanced Diploma, Masters, and Certificate. Main Intakes are in September, January & May.

• Under Graduate Diploma is for 2 years
• Advanced Diploma is for 3 years
• Bachelors is for 4 years
• Masters is for 2 years
• Post Graduate Diploma / Graduate Certificate is for 1 to 2 years

          Apply to College / University:

2. Apply in 2 to 3 College to secure admission offer letter and pay the application fee. Apply in Designated Learning Institute DLI. You can check DLI Institutes from the official web site of the Government of Canada. Apply for admission offer online and pay the application fee which may range from 50CAD to 200 CAD. Some Colleges / Universities give waiver from application fee. With application form upload the scanned documents as required.

          Offer Letter:

3. If application is accepted, the College / University may issue an Offer letter. The tuition fee program duration details are given in the offer letter.

          Open GIC (Guaranteed Investment Account):

4. Open GIC Account with minimum deposit of 10,000.00 CAD. GIC is deposit of one year living cost to support while studying in Canada which will be received in monthly returns. GIC stands for Guaranteed Investment Certificate. GIC Account can be opened with Scotia Bank, CIBC, ICICI Bank Canada, SBI Canada Bank.

          Payment of Tuition Fees:

5. Pay the tuition fee as mentioned in the Offer letter within due date as mentioned in the offer letter.

          FEE Receipt and Letter of Acceptance (LOA):

6. You will receive fee receipt along with Letter of Acceptance (LOA) which is an important document. After receiving Letter of Acceptance LOA you can apply for study visa online.

           Medical Upfront:

7. Book appointment for medical check-up from approved doctor on panel list. Seek an appointment. E-medical report shall be generated.

           Apply for Visa Online:

8. Apply for Study Visa online electronically and upload all relevant and required documents. Embassy Fee i.e. 150 CAD & Biometric Fee is 85 CAD (Total 235 CAD). If you get 6 Bands overall in IELTS and also 6 bands each in 4 modules i.e. Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking, pay one year tuition fee and open GIC Account with minimum deposit of 10,000.00 CAD then your file shall be processed under Student Direct Stream (SDS) category otherwise it shall be processed under Non SDS or general category. Visa success rate of SDS category is more and visa processing is faster. Wait for Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL). Bil is essential to get Biometric done.

            Book An Bioetric Appointment:

9. When you go for biometric you should take along Original Passport, Biometric Instruction Letter BIL, Biometric Appointment letter & VFS Consent Form for Biometric.

           Wait for Visa Outcome:

10. After biometric wait for visa outcome. If visa is approved, you will receive Passport Request PPR, submit original passport for visa label at the nearest visa application centre either by person or through two way blue dart courier services. PPR means that your application has been approved. Stamped Passport will be received by you at your preferred address through blue dart courier. If Study Visa is refused you may apply for Caips Note or GCMS Notes and know the reasons for refusal of study visa. You can re-apply for visa again.

• Letter of Recommendation from passing Institute – Advisable
• Medium of Instruction (MOI) – Advisable for Non SDS or General category.
• Tuition Fee Receipt
• GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate)
• Statement of Purpose (SOP) advised in 1 to 2 pages
• Documents as mentioned in the SOP
• In case of working candidate seeking admission for higher study – Appointment letter, Job Responsibility, Job experience Certificate, Salary Slips, Income Tax Return.
• Strong Statement of Purpose SOP advised in 1 to 2 pages – Very Important Document as embassy officer knows and understands you through SOP.
